SINGER Andrea Corr has spoken of her joy and excitement
at the news that her sister Caroline is expecting a baby.
Andrea was in Belfast last night to launch the production of a new
£5m movie, The Great Ceili War, which begins shooting in the province
tomorrow.
The gorgeous Dundalk singer will star in the film alongside Irish actor
Colm Meaney and Liverpudlians Philip Barantini and Shaun Evans.
Andrea, who was accompaned to the movie launch by her father Gerry,
said the family was delighted with the news that the band's drummer Caroline
was four months pregnant.
Caroline married long-term boyfriend Frank Wood on the sunshine island
of Majorca in August.
Speaking at the movie launch at Ten Square, Andrea said she was looking
forward to a double celebration next spring - the birth of the baby and
the release of the movie.
"I'm so excited about the baby and I'm so happy for Caroline," she
said.
"I can't stop thinking about it, I'm even having dreams about it, but
it's just such an exciting thing for us all.
"Caroline's looking fantastic and she's feeling great too and we can't
wait until the baby is born.
"The movie should be released next spring, around the same time as
the baby is born, so I'm really looking forward to next year."
Andrea, who is the only Corr sister who hasn't yet tied the knot, said
she had no plans yet to follow in the footsteps of Caroline or Sharon.
"I'm concentrating on my career at the moment," she said.
However, the raven-haired singer said she was happy with her love interest
in the film - Teachers star Shaun Evans.
"He's absolutely gorgeous," she said.
"There are some love scenes in the film, but they are very sweet and
romantic and nothing for me to worry about."
Shaun said: "I can't wait to work with Andrea.
"Apart from the fact that she's stunning, she's also incredibly talented
and the movie looks set to be a great hit."
