Arrived at the entertainment centre Mcdonalds at 3.30, decided to go and see if I could find the backstage area, before meeting everyone at 4. Once I got there I was too scared to move [in case The Corrs came] so luckily Claire's (CallieCorr) mum offered to go and round up everyone to come and join the rest of us. I saw some of the UK fans, and recognised a couple of faces. Didn’t get a chance to talk much with them but they seemed really nice people.
Chatted with the aussies and a few New Zealanders, and I better not mention names cos I'll probably forget someone. Mostly hang out with the aussies.
At about 4.30 The Corrs pulled up, but we didn't get to see em get out of the car because it went straight into the building. Actually one girl sorry I can’t remember your name – I know that she was from Canberra, anyway she said that she saw Andrea poke her head around the corner when she got out of the car. I think there might have been about 20-30 fans waiting outside the fence). Anyway some of us hung around there for a few hours, the time went by quickly. People came and went. We were given updates by the crew every now and again,on what The Corrs were up to. Soon after they arrived we were told they were eating some dinner, and then a bit later we could hear them rehearsing, well Judi could hear, my ears weren’t so good. I kept screaming out (well sortof) “leave the doors open”.
At one stage I noticed a lady walking out (she must’ve been about I dunno maybe 50 metres away, I got a bit excited there for a second – “Could this be Andrea. But no as she walked closer I could tell it wasn’t her just the singer from Fourplay. Well really straight away I had a feeling it wasn’t her. She didn’t walk like Andrea. But I was hoping. Wasn’t surprised though to find it wasn’t our little Andy.
We kept on joking that Sharon might come out soon for a smoke, No – it never happened.
We were all really disappointed that we didn’t get to meet The Corrs.
They could have just come out for ten minutes to sign a few autographs
for us. They did this in Melbourne. I guess I’ll have to wait another 2-3
years for my opportunity. I am very jealous of all the fans that were able
to meet them, some in Asia, and Auckland and I’m really jealous as are
a lot of you guys of Sheree and her friends who have met The Corrs on quite
a few occasions already. I heard that they were even on the same flight
as The Corrs on the way to Auckland. I am happy for them. They do deserve
to meet The Corrs seeing that they have followed them around the world.
I would be happy to meet Andrea just the once.
I’d like to say hi, maybe get an autograph and a photo, and that’s
it, that’s all that I want. Oh well, you can’t have everything can you.
When it does happen I’ll enjoy it even more. I’ll have something to look
forward to. I am just very happy to have seen The Corrs twice in Sydney.
I know that some fans haven’t had the chance to see them live, and I feel
very sorry for them, and there are also a lot that haven’t met them either.
I gave up at about 7 and decided to go inside to look at the merchandise, I met Marie and her husband too, which was great. We chatted for a while, and then I bought the grey Corrs t-shirt, the black tour t-shirt and a programme.
I went in - was shown to my seat at about 7.45 (I had a row 15 seat) sat through some of the boring Fourplay, sat for a bit inside during intermission.
With about 20 minutes to go before The Corrs came on, I walked up to the front to see if there were any spare seats, and yep there were still a few empty seats, I went back to row 15, sat for another 10 minutes while I pondered on whether to try and sneak up closer to the stage. Well I had nothing to lose, so about 10 minutes before 9, I sat myself down in row 3, (had 2 seats to myself) and then prayed and prayed that no-one would come to claim the seats before the show started. Thank god no-one came. I was sitting pretty much dead centre.
The time finally arrived, the lights started to dim and then as usual Erin shore played, which was ******** exciting, but the most incredible part of the whole night would have to be the moment I caught my first glimpse of Andrea, I just couldn't believe that The Corrs were up there and Andrea was only a few metres from me. It was unbelievable, the excitement I felt. My heart was beating at a million beats a minute. Andrea was just sooooo beautiful, so sexy. I looked around, some people just looked so calm, like they were in a movie theatre, meanwhile I was sitting on the edge of my seat in awe. This would have to come close to the happiest moment of my life.
I know I was getting carried away, when after a few minutes a lady a
couple of rows behind me grabbed me on the shoulder shook me and said “settle
down" in a very angry voice. Even now 2 weeks after the event, it still
hasn’t sunk in that I was at a Corrs concert, and I was sitting in row
3. If someone had told me a few months ago that I’d get the chance to sneak
down right to the front, I would’ve have laughed and thought no way - You’ve
got to be joking.
It was quite funny actually every now and then I'd look around at some
of the people nearby, during the show and they seemed like they weren't
even enjoying it, just sitting there passively. The audience were really
disappointing. Aussies are just too laid-back I would’ve loved to have
stood the whole night dancing and really getting into it, but it wasn’t
meant to be, because no-one around me wanted to join in. It wasn’t until
the very end – the last few songs that everyone started to stand, on the
floor, god the atmosphere was fantastic, its just a pity that we didn’t
do it sooner. I also think The Corrs should’ve kept on insisting that we
get up and dance, but Andrea only commented on it once or twice. I think
there needed to be a bit more interaction with the fans.
Took a lot of photos, mainly of Andrea of course haha It’s a pity that some shots were blurry.

Andrea probably thought I was a nut, cos the whole time I kept on putting up my sign “Can I have your tin whistle”, and I kept taking stacks of photos. I’m sure she noticed me. Well she couldn’t have missed me my sign was huge. I thought I would be sitting in row 15, so I made it really big. Unfortunately I didn’t get her tin whistle.
Another highlight of my night was when I threw my kangaroo up on stage. I also threw the Australian fan petition, and my letter to Andrea I sat there with the kanga on my lap for a couple of songs waiting for a good moment to give it to her. Andrea noticed this, which was great. With all the excitement I couldn’t even remember when I threw it to her. I found out that it was during Somebody for Someone. My plan was to hit her (I hit her just below the knees) and apparently someone heard Andrea say at the end of the song “hmmmmm maybe this is my someone”
Someone told me that when I threw it at her she covered her head so
that she wouldn't get hit, I guess I must've missed her doing this. It
was all a bit of a daze cos it felt a bit like I was in a dream or something.
Someone commented that he was surprised at how long it took Andrea to pick
the kanga up.He said that she kept looking down at it. He thought maybe
she was scared of it because of the way I was carrying on. She might of
thought I was a bit crazy.
Andrea hugged the kangaroo and gave me the cutest smile and said “Thanks”
She also
said something else but I couldn’t make out what she said. If anyone
can remember please email me. I took a couple of photos whils’t on the
railing, until a security guard told me to go back to my seat. I waved
at Andrea and then sat down.
Andrea didn’t really make any mistakes, but she did have a little fight
with Jim over whether one of the screens was working or not, and that was
cute.
Andrea “It has been working, It’s been working the whole night
Jim “No it hasn’t”
Andrea "If you wanna know if we fight then there is your answer"
As everyone knows already, the sound stuffed up twice during the night, and Andrea sat on the speaker and decided to kick it into action.
Being so close to Andrea, I noticed that she often tip toed whil’st
on stage which I thought was kinda cute. And I just love the way that she
moves to the music, very very sexy.
12th October
I was sitting in the first elevation with my sister on the second night.
On the 12th I noticed Andrea sucking her thumb during Somebody for
someone, as she was facing Caroline. Haha gorgeous and the whole time that
she was singing Would you be happier, every now and again she would look
up at the big screen to watch the videoclip. Haha very funny. None of The
Corrs had seen the finished product yet, so they were really enjoying themselves.
