Corrs Drummer Ties Knot In Majorca

The drummer of the Irish family band, the Corrs, has been married in a star-studded ceremony on the Spanish island of Majorca.

Caroline Corr, 28, and Dublin property developer Frank Woods tied the knot in a candlelight wedding in the village of Deia on Thursday.

Lead singer Andrea and fiddle player Sharon, who recently bought a new house in Belfast, were bridesmaids while guitarist brother Jim was also on hand.

Among the guests were U2's Bono and his wife, Ali. The Edge was also there with his new wife.

Irish Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan was also on the guest list.

At one point it was uncertain the wedding would go ahead after a freak storm threatened floods and lightning interrupted power supplies.

But villagers came to the rescue, arriving at St John the Baptist church with candles to ensure the ceremony could continue.

Her father Gerry gave her away and after exchanging vows, the wedding party headed for the exclusive Las Resedentia hotel for a lavish reception.

It is the second wedding within just over a year for the Corrs.

Sharon married Belfast lawyer Gavin Bonner last year.

The band from Dundalk in County Louth, close to the Northern Ireland border, have been one of Ireland's most sucessful exports, with three  top selling albums behind them and a fourth in the pipeline.
