The Corrs Drummer Marries in Candlelit Island Ceremony

Caroline Corr, drummer of the Irish pop group The Corrs, married her longtime love, Dublin property tycoon Frank Woods on Thursday evening on the Spanish island of Majorca.

The Roman Catholic service, attended by a small group of family and friends including U2’s Bono and The Edge, was held in a mountaintop church lit only by candles after a rainstorm caused a power failure.

The 29-year-old bride arrived at the wedding, which took place in Deia, a small village on the western shore of the island, in a Rolls Royce accompanied by her brother Jim. Caroline’s two sisters Andrea and Sharon, also members of the multi-million selling musical group, acted as bridesmaids.

The couple opted for summer casual for the nuptials, with the bride in a long white gown and little jewellery, and the groom in a dark suit, open-collared shirt and no tie. And the newlyweds requested no wedding presents – instead, guests were asked to make a donation to the UK charity Cancer and Leukaemia In Childhood.

Frank asked Caroline to marry him while on holiday in Paris last April, following a brief split in their five-year relationship.
