It was cold and frosty outside but Irish eyes were smiling inside
the NEC as The Corrs turned up the heat with a terrific set of songs, old
and new.
And they even threw in one or two surprises, including an unplugged version of Thin Lizzy's Old Town, written by one of the wild men of rock, Phil Lynott. As usual, sultry Andrea was the centre of attention, confidently skipping barefoot around the stage and flirting with the guys in the front row.
She recalled how, when the group first performed at the NEC as support to Celine Dion, she was too scared to move as she sang. How times have changed!
There was solid back-up from sisters Sharon on fiddle and Caroline on drums - and they even joined Andrea on vocals for the "un-plugged" section which also featured All The Love In The World from their new In Blue album.
And there is a fourth Corr. Brother Jim had his own supporters in the sold-out crowd, although it's uncertain what they thought of his new ultra-short haircut.
"I had an argument with a razor over Christmas," he quipped.
Songs from all three Corrs studio albums got an airing during the hour and 45 minute show this week, with opener Only When I Sleep, Runaway from the debut Forgiven Not Forgotten record and Breathless, the first single from In Blue being particularly well received.
The Corrs play the NEC again tomorrow and Saturday
