TOTP: How many TOTP appearances have you done now?
Andrea Seven I think.
TOTP: Can you remember your first appearance, when you did 'Dreams'?
Andrea: It was wow! We grew up really mad about Top of the Pops.
It was like a ritual in our house, more than Mass for us as kids. So it
was weird actually getting to go and do it. I remember it seemed really
small because it is, and I was really nervous about it.
TOTP: Is it still exciting to come here?
Jim: It certainly is. It's always exciting to do. It's great
meeting acts. We get to meet Janet Jackson today and Toploader, who we
admire a lot.
TOTP: Do you have a special memory of the show from your youth?
Andrea: Actually I loved Nik Kershaw and I saw him doing 'Wouldn't
It Be Good' the other day. I used to love him and have posters on my wall
and everything. But what a mad mover he was!
TOTP: Do you feel very self-conscious in front of the camera?
Jim: No, you get over that type of feeling very quickly. You
become aware that for those 3-4 minutes the camera is on you so you just
be careful you're not scratching your bottom or anything like that.
Andrea: I wouldn't do any of those things anyway!
TOTP: What was the first record you ever bought?
Jim: The first single I ever bought was by Sweet and was
called 'Fox On The Run'.
Andrea: You bought me my first album Jim. We all listened to
his records. The first one I ever bought to be very honest about it was
Five Star. We did the dance moves at school. It was actually cool in my
class, believe it or not.
TOTP: Do you think you might incorporate some dance moves into
your live performances?
Andrea: No I don't think so. I think we'll leave that
to the others!
