Interior: Andrea's flat in Dublin. She has just called Caroline to come over for a visit. She sits by a warm fire on the sofa writing in her journal.
A knock is heard on the door.

Andrea: It's open Caz.

Caroline walks in, gives Andrea a kiss on the head, and sits down on the chair next to the sofa.

Caroline: What are you up to?

Andrea: Just writing. I am feeling quite lyrical tonight so I called you over to see if you could inspire me a little so I could finish this song I am working on. By the way, is Jake with Frank?

Caroline: Yes, Frank was tired and wanted to get some sleep but I told him it was my turn to get a night out of the house and a little rest with my sister, so the poor bloke is changing him and putting him to bed as we speak.

Andrea: Well thanks for stopping by.

Caroline: Oh, you know anytime Andy Pandy. So what do you have so far? What's it about? What's the tempo you're looking at?

Andrea: Whoa slow down there sister. First of all, I started writing when I got to thinking about Shaun and Giles. Just how different, yet the same I feel around the both of them. I know Giles has a new girl and I wonder if they'll share the same feelings and experiences that we did. But with Shaun everything is so new and it's taken me a while to open up to him and I am so worried that he will realize soon that he doesn't know he's gotten himself into. The press, the commitment, the time apart, I just don't know if he'll be able to handle it. He hasn't had to deal with me being on tour yet.

Caroline moves onto the sofa and sits next to Andrea.

Caroline: You're right Andy, it's hard to tell what he's thinking or where his mind is at regarding stuff like that, but if you spend your entire relationship worrying about it, you're gonna miss all the great times you could be having. Is that what got you writing this song?

Andrea: Yeah.

Caroline: Let me see what you have so far.

Andrea hands her book to Caroline who reads over the words to the bridge and chorus that Andrea has alread written.

Andrea: I am having some trouble with the verses.

Caroline: Do you have a melody in your head yet?

Andrea: Yeah, somewhat.

Andrea starts to hum a little melody to Caroline as Caz beings tapping a beat on her leg. Caroline goes over the the piano that rests against the wall near the fireplace and begins to play around on that while Andrea walks over and sits next to her on the bench.

Andrea: Caz, I can't belive how much our lives have changed in these past few years. I mean, you just got married year, just had a baby boy, I just ended my longest relationship and started a new one with a man I met while starring in a movie for God's sake. This is crazy. We really are grown up now, no going back.

Caroline has stopped playing the piano and has her arm around Andrea.

Caroline: Yeah Andy, life has certainly given us some interesting ups and downs lately, but look how we've ended up. We're all in pretty happy sitations. I don't talk to Sharon as much as I should to make sure she is sincerely doing well but we had a nice talk in the hospital last week about our family situation and she's pretty content. I just wish I could create the perfect man for you and get you married off so you'd know the happiness of true love and the beauty of marriage that I feel. I know Frank and I had our problems but after we split for a while, we both realized that all we want in the world is each other and now we have it, along with a beautiful son. Maybe you and Giles are in that situation. Do you think about him a lot anymore?

Andrea: Yeah, like I said, I was thinking of him when I started writing this. I just don't know....it seems like he doesn't even recognize that we ever had a relationship. It hurts. At the same time, Shaun keeps my mind off of him most of the time. I just don't think Shaun and I will ever reach the point of a relationship that Giles and I did.

Caroline: Well honey, there are some things that only time can tell you. You can't control love and how people will react.

Andrea: I know, it's just so nice to hear it from you.

Andrea rests her head on Caroline's shoulder as she begins to play the piano once again.

As Andrea sits there listening to Caroline playing and watches the fire, the lyrics begin to pour out of her. She runs to the sofa to grab her paper and pen and speedily begins to write. In a matter of minutes, she has two verses down on paper. She goes to hand it to Caroline to look at.

Caroline: Wow Andy, this is beautiful. This all just came out?

Andrea: Yeah. Just all the thoughts running around in my head, all the frustration, hurt, love, everything. One problem though, I don't see where a violin would fit into the song.

Caroline: Oh ****e, you're right. I don't either. Sharon is going to be pretty upset about that. She'll probably try to sneak it in like she did with "Judy." We had to let her have that one.

Andrea: Oh well, we'll take this to the studio tomorrow when we go and see what John and the others think.

It's an early rainy morning in Dublin when Andrea hears a car horn coming from outside her flat. She grabs her bag and coat and heads out the door. She greets Caroline as she gets into the car.

Andrea: Mornin' Caz.

Caroline: Thanks for not making me wait 30 minutes this time.

Andrea: Ok, ok...you should be used to having to wait on me by now dear sister.

Caroline: True, true. So, did you sleep well last night after I left?

Andrea: Yeah, really had piece of mind. Thanks again for the help and comfort. Don't know what I'd do without you sometimes Caz.

Caroline: Yeah, I wonder that too sometimes. Well let's get to the studio already. I am anxious to play the new song for the others. Did you come up with a title yet?

Andrea: Kinda, I am throwing around different ideas, but I decided to wait and get everyone's opinion on it after they hear it.

Caroline drives herself and her little sister to the studio where Jim and John are already there waiting. Sharon has not shown yet.

Jim: Hey you two. Only 5 minutes late today! WOW, you must have sped your little arse off there Caz.

John: Yeah, nice to see you two this morning. We're still waiting on Sharon before we do a briefing of today's plan.

Caroline: Anyone know when she's supposed to show?

Jim: Well I didn't hear anything about her being late, so I assume she'll be here any minute. Maybe Gavin made her fix an elaborate breakfast this morning. Maybe she is just hungover...who knows?

The gang waits around for about 15 minutes...drinking coffee and just chatting (Jim decides he wants his to be an IRISH coffee, just to perk him up a little bit.) Sharon finally makes her way into the studio, her hair looking a mess and her dark sunglasses on.

Jim: AHHH! I knew it! She IS hungover!

Sharon: Oh shut it Jim. I am not. Just tired.

Andrea: What the hell are you so tired from? You look like ****e!

Sharon: Thanks Andrea! I'll be sure and return the compliment someday.

Caroline: Well go on then...why so tired?

Sharon: I don't have to tell you. I am entitled to tell you all what I want. You've seen me like this before, it's not like this is such a new look for me.

Andrea: Yeah, we've seen you worse actually, but that was the morning after you and Gavin were up all night trying to make a baby.

The entire room gasps then bursts out laughing (well, everyone that is, but Sharon).

Sharon: ANDREA! Shut the hell up!

Caroline tries to control her laughter long enough to calm Sharon down.

Caroline: Oh Sharon, settle down. It's funny. We're all adults now. You just should have brushed your hair a little more and Andrea never would have known.

John: OK OK, let's focus and get to work (He's still giggling a little).

Jim: Ok, what are we working on first?

Caroline: Well actually, Andrea and I wrote a song last night that we wanted to get a little feedback on.

Jim: Sounds nice. Let's hear it.

Andrea: It's just a ROUGH outline, but I'm sure together we can all fill in the gaps.

Andrea and Caroline sit at the piano and play the song for the other 3. When they are done, Jim and John both look rather pleased and Sharon seems a little irritated.

Jim: Sharon, now what's wrong?

Sharon: Oh Jim, shut it. I just don't see where I'd fit a violin in there.

Andrea: Yeah, we thought about that. We just thought we'd try it out at different parts during the recording. (Andrea says this, knowing that there really is no good place to have a violin in the song).

Jim: Ok then..let's all play around with it a little. Andrea, just let me see the sheet for a minute so I can figure out the chords.

As Sharon goes to get her violin, Jim his guitar, and Caz her bodhran, Andrea and John sit by the piano waiting.

Jim sits on a chair and starts playing around with chords until he and Andrea agree with what sounds the best. Sharon just sits anxiously for her turn to play with the song. When she gets her turn to look at the music, both Andrea and Caroline sit in the corner, giggling. They are watching Shaz and realize that she is wasting her time trying to use a violin in this song.

Sharon: What are you two laughing about? Am I playing weird or something?

Andrea: No, we are just thinking about how much fun you must have had last night.

Sharon: OH **** girls let it go. You are acting like Jim. You just had a baby Caroline, it's not like sex is such a mystery for you anymore.

Caroline: I know, ok we'll stop. You think you found a place for the violin yet?

Sharon: No, I don't know if I will be able to.

Caroline: Why is that?

Sharon: Just doesn't suit this song. Maybe I'll just play the keyboards on this one. Another "Would You Be Happier?" situation.

Andrea: Well maybe it's for the best.

Both Andrea and Caroline giggle again. Sharon gives up on their little game and heads off to talk to John.

The band are still in the studio recording Andrea's vocals for the new song. As she finishes up, John decides that is enough work for the day. He lets the band go and tells them to be back same time tomorrow morning. He gives Sharon a little wink and smile while saying this. She sticks her tongue out at him. Andrea comes out of the booth and asks the family what they planning on doing for the rest of the day/evening.
Sharon: Well, I don't have any immediate plans. Gavin wanted to catch a movie later possibly, but I would prefer to go out to a pub or something. I am not in the mood to sit in chair for 2 hours. I'm antsy for some reason.

Jim: I can't IMAGINE why that is.

Sharon throws Jim a death look then goes over to punch him in the arm. He grabs his sister and puts her over his shoulder. As Sharon beats and screams at him, the other girls just laugh and throw Sharon a sympathetic look. John heads out of the studio as Andy and Caroline follow. Jim finally puts Sharon down once they reach the lobby.

Sharon: Really Jim, I don't know when you're gonna grow up and stop this nonsense.

Jim: Why should I little sister? Did it not look as if I was enjoying myself?

Sharon: I give up. Just go for Andrea next time. My abs are sore now.

Caroline: So are ours, from laughing.

The band says bye to John as he gets in his car and heads home.

Jim: So what are my three favorite sisters up to now?

Andrea: I don't know, but I am quite hungry. Anyone else up for a meal?

Sharon: Sure, that sounds nice. Any ideas?

Andrea: How about Mont Clare? I like the pub area there. And I'm in the mood for some Italian.

Caroline: That sounds fine. I just need to call Frank first and make sure he hasn't made dinner already.

Andrea: Jim, you coming?

Jim: Sorry to ruin the party, but no. I have a date.

All three girls stop in their tracks and are stunned.

Sharon: Excuse me? Who is the poor victim this time?

Jim: So funny Sharon. Her name is Jane.

Andrea: Sounds like a made-up name to me, what do you think Caroline?

Caroline: Ha ha, yep. Come on then Jim, be serious now. Do you really have a date and where are you taking her?

Jim: I wouldn't lie to you dear sisters. That IS her name and I am taking her to dinner at 101 Talbot.

Caroline: Ooooo...that's fancy for you Jim. She just be quite the beauty.

Jim: But of course!

Sharon: Well have fun and we'll hear all about it tomorrow I assume. That is, if you make it in tomorrow.

Jim: Don't worry, I won't pull a "Sharon".

He runs over and gives Shaz a big bear hug. The other two wave goodbye and head off to the restaurant.

When they arrive, they get immediate seating (of course) and a private little table in the corner.

The three girls sit down and Andrea notices that Caroline looks a bit tired.

Andrea: Jake keep you up last night much?

Caroline: Oh, I got up once to feed him, but I made Frank do it the second time. That's why you always keep some fresh milk in the fridge.

Sharon: Sounds like hell.

Caroline: Yeah, it takes a toll on me, but it's worth it. Sharon, you sure you don't want to have one?

Sharon: I just don't know. I don't really see myself pregnant and a mother. I think I was suited to be an aunt.

Caroline: I hope you change your mind Shaz. It's just unbelievable.

Sharon: Well we'll see...maybe someday.

Andrea: I can't wait to be a mum. I'll get to wear all your cute maternity clothes too Caz!

Caroline: Ha ha, sure Andrea.

The waiter comes and takes the girls orders. Caroline is just excited to order a drink again after nine months.

Andrea: So Sharon, if you don't want a baby right now, what was the deal with last night?

Sharon: Can't a husband and wife just have a night of fun?

Andrea: Does Gavin have that much stamina?

Sharon: Ha ha, shut up Andrea. You don't really want to know that many details do you?

Andrea: Probably not.

Caroline: You two don't share intimate details Sharon?

Sharon: Well she's never really asked before.

Caroline: God, we swap stories all the time. Frank and Shaun, who's hotter in the sack.

Sharon: You two are terrible. Well what conclusion did you come to?

Andrea: Well were considering adding Gavin to the pack as well, but we haven't gotten any info. about the issue from you yet.

Sharon: Well, what do you want to know then?

Andrea: It's about time we got you into this discussion.
