Pop idols The Corrs launched their new album in London last night with
a star-studded party.
The Dundalk family group took over the trendy fashion shop Joop! to
launch In Blue.
More than 900 people turned up for the celebrity bash including supermodel
Kate Moss and Spice Girl Emma Bunton.
Also invited were All Saints, movie-maker Alan Parker, pop idols Five
and TV star Cat Deeley.
The band’s dad, Gerry, was there to wish them well, as was drummer
Caroline’s boyfriend Frank Woods.
Singer Andrea said, “Every band says their latest record is their best
– but I really believe it. We’re very proud of it.”
In Blue is released on July 14 and has 15 tracks, many co-written with
producer Mutt Lange.
Lange was the man behind the phenomenal success of Shania Twain and
The Corrs flew out to his Swedish base to work with him.
But the album also contains a sad note as it is dedicated to their
mum, Jean, who died last year.
The moving song No More Cry, is written about her death.
Andrea added: “We wrote it for Daddy after Mummy died. It’s saying
stop the pain. Reach out and believe in her love.
“It rocks a bit too, like Blondie or Garbage. We’ve never considered
ourselves a rock band but it felt natural to go there.”
